About Soul Blossom

Our Mission

We at Soul Blossom are nurturing community connections across generations.

As caregivers and educators, we aim to provide an inclusive, safe, and developmentally appropriate learning environment, fostering an individual's instinct to connect, explore, discover, create, and ignite a love for lifelong learning.

We are committed to promoting their physical, emotional, intellectual, artistic, moral, and spiritual development. We aim to create a safe and respectful community where children and staff thrive together. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender expression, age, veteran and or disability status, or other legally protected characteristics. All are welcome.

We envision a world where all generations are connected through story, art, immersive nature experiences, and kitchen gardens.

Our Goals & Philosophy

We cultivate progressive intergenerational learning experiences that embrace heads, hearts, and hands. We are Waldorf-inspired and work toward collectively creating a more compassionate, connected, sustainable society.

Our goals are to:

  • Nurture each child's unique being.

  • Foster a positive self-image, independence, and resilience.

  • Promote social-emotional skills.

  • Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love for learning.

  • Collaborate with families to create a strong partnership.

Staff Qualifications and Training

Our staff members are carefully selected for their expertise, experience, and dedication to early childhood education. They hold relevant qualifications, including certifications in early childhood education, first aid, and CPR.

Our team undergoes ongoing professional development to ensure they stay updated with the latest research and best practices in the field.

We believe in a low staff-to-child ratio, allowing for individualized attention and quality care. As a startup, we anticipate turnover. However, the director April Farmer MAT; curriculum consultant, Cecelia McClellan, ANSWA Waldorf Certified Teacher Trainer and child development specialist; and Eugenia Grimalt, Pediatric Physical Therapist, are permanent team members and ensure that new staff members have a seamless transition.

Facility Description and Safety Measures

Our child care center is designed with the well-being and safety of children in mind. We maintain a clean, inviting, and child-friendly environment that supports active exploration, learning, and play. Our indoor and outdoor spaces are equipped with developmentally appropriate materials, toys, and equipment. We follow strict safety protocols, including regular inspections, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness measures. Security measures, such as controlled access, coded doors, camera surveillance, and child sign-in and sign-out procedures, ensure a secure environment for all children and staff.

Our Commitments

Here at Soul Blossom, we are committed to providing high-quality early care and education through close and thoughtful partnerships with educators, families, child development professionals, and our local state agencies.

The tenets that guide and inspire our work:

  1. We believe that children reach their fullest potential in relationship-based cohorts that are nurturing and secure developmentally appropriate learning environments with caring and attentive adults and meaningful relationships with their peers.

  2. We believe the family is a child’s first teacher and the experts on their child. Supporting a child to reach their fullest potential means partnering closely with the family through annual home visits, PTA, and all school celebrations.

  3. We believe educators are the heart and soul of the school and as such we are committed to uplifting and celebrating our teachers’ professional growth through 40 hours of annual professional development, $500 annual compensation toward employee-chosen professional development, 1 –2 hours monthly curriculum consultations, goal setting, and mentoring program including ANSWA and WECAN Waldorf Certified Teacher Trainer, Cecilia McClellan and Pediatric Physical Therapist, Eugenia Grimalt.

Soul Blossom strives to be advocates for all children, families, and educators within our community and beyond as we lead by example to have a positive impact on the future of our youngest and oldest citizens, families, and the field of early childhood education.

Creating a Supportive Community for Children, Families, and Teachers

Soul Blossom is more than just a nurturing space for children—it’s also a supportive workplace for our skilled, dedicated teachers, who are committed to creating a positive environment for all. To ensure this, we ask that families familiarize themselves with our handbook policies, as they help us maintain the respectful and safe space our teachers and children need to thrive.

As children learn to navigate their emotions and gain control over their bodies, some challenging moments may naturally arise. If a teacher reaches out for additional support with your child, we encourage you to work with us. Growing up means encountering big feelings and sometimes facing difficult conversations-difficulties may come up. By partnering with your child’s teacher, we can create a consistent approach that helps your child grow, while fostering a warm and supportive community for everyone at Soul Blossom.
